Oil on canvas painting by Marcelle Ferron, 1924 to 2001, a Canadian painter and stained glass artist, a major figure in the Quebec contemporary art scene associated with the Automatistes. Alongside Lyrical Abstract painters in France, the Automatistes favoured a fluid, painterly technique over the comparatively reserved, hard-edge abstraction so popular in the US.
