Carlos Maside was a Spanish artist, known for rural scenes, and modernist painting. Carlos Maside began his drawing studies in the town of Padron. In 1917 he travelled to Madrid, to do his military service, and there he came into contact with artists, who guided his future career. In 1923 he took part in the Regional Exhibition in A Coruna. Two years later he collaborated in the newspapers Faro de Vigo and El Pueblo Gallego. He held his first personal exhibition in Compostela in 1930. Carlos Masides work can be found in all the museums of Galicia, especially in the museum of Vigo, with a large and highly representative collection of his oil paintings and gouaches.
