A lot of six volumes of Russian historical almanac The Past. The lot includes 6 volumes from 20 to 25, published by Phoenix publishing house. Circa 1990s. The Past is a multi volume historical almanac, which was published in 1986 to 1999. First in Paris by the Atheneum publishing house, and then in Moscow and St. Petersburg by the Phoenix publishing house. The almanac was in fact a continuation of the samizdat historical collection Pamyat. Its main theme is political repression in the USSR. The almanac also published various materials on literature, art, culture, science articles, documents, letters, memoirs of writers, artists, scientists, religious figures.
