One is a metal badge or award in the shape of a cross, featuring a swastika at its center, the number 5, and Cyrillic lettering KONO NOV, for Ivan Nikitich Kononov. Crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, superimposed over a shield bearing a Don Cossack insignia. The back side with a vertical pinback, and marked with MUNCHEN.
