A lot of two antique sterling silver folding grape scissors or shears. Scissors with a lush relief pattern of flowers and grapes on the handles. Each is marked Sterling. One item is marked with sterling and other marks, presumably of German origin. Grape scissors are a cutlery specially designed in England during the reign of Queen Victoria for cutting small bunches of grapes or even one grape from a large bunch that lay on a fruit plate on the table during a dinner party. Scissors were considered cutlery and lay on the table along with forks and spoons.
