A Chinese Republic period famille rose porcelain baluster vase, painted around the exterior in vivid overglaze enamels with a continuous narrative scene depicting figures, scholars, and attendants in a garden environment beside pine trees, scholar's rocks, and furnishings. The reverse and neck feature multi-line calligraphic inscriptions in black enamel accompanied by red seal marks, flanked by iron-red bats and peach branches.
