The interior of the ware is adorned with an image of a couple of birds seated on tree branches in the center surrounded by chrysanthemum flower and foliage ornaments on the borders. The exterior of the ware is decorated with chrysanthemum flower and foliage patterns. The interior of the ware is covered with enamel in an oxblood red shade. The ware is adorned with fluted and scalloped rims. Marked with a blue ink six characters mark. Ming dynasty, Xuande mark period, 1426 to 1435, on the bottom. Marked with an original paper label, Musee des Beaux Arts et de la Ceramique exposition Chine 1960, on the bottom.
