Both are wearing extravagant luxury kimonos with embroidered details. The emperor has eboshi on his head, headgear worn by nobles. The empress is wearing an elaborate crown and holds a fan in his hand. Edo era. Circa the second half of the 19th century. Comes with a wooden box.
