Aime Millet, French, 1819 to 1891, patinated bronze sculpture, The Disconsolate Ariadne, depicting a draped nude, leaning against a rocky pillar. Signed with a cast signature, Aime Millet, on a base. Mounted on a stand. Circa: the last quarter of the 19th century. Aime Millet was a French artist, sculptor, engraver, and medalist; a student of David of Angers. Son of the miniaturist Frederic Millet. Studied at the National Higher School of Fine Arts under David of Angers and Eugene Emmanuel Viollet le Duc.
