A South Central African Zambian Chokwe hand carved fetish mask. The female mask with a red brown scar face in the shape of an arc with headdress made of sea shells, nails, and beads. The mask is adorned with an embroidered wrap. The traditional Angolan mask is handcrafted out of dark wood and cloth that is stretched over the forehead of the African Chokwe mask and grass hair is then braided into the mask. Once set, the tribal artist then gets ready to apply his talents and paints and carved traditional patterns into the mask with the natural earth tone colors of his choice.
