A pair of antique English late Georgian period dinner plates by Hicks, Meigh and Johnson, circa 1820 - 1830. The plates are decorated with a printed and hand colored red and blue Japanese Imari pattern. Each plate is richly decorated with red flowers with blue leaves, round in shape with a gadrooned edge stylized as flower petals. In the center of both plates there is a central gilded flower that echoes the gold accents throughout the design. It was made by Hicks, May and Johnson of Broad Street Works, Shelton, Hanley, Stoke on Trent, England. On the reverse side there is a manufacturers mark in the form of a coat of arms with the inscription Stone China, and the serial number 20.
