An antique, Meiji era, Japanese enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome enamel image of a peacock in a garden with blossoming flowers on the turquoise made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with floral, foliage and scrollwork ornaments on the olive green ground made in the same technique. The backside features a foliate scroll motif made in the same technique.
