An antique Japanese, late Meiji era, enamel over gilt copper charger plate. The plate is adorned with a polychrome image of birds and butterflies in blossoming Chrysanthemum and lotus flowers on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features traditional foliage, and geometrical motifs made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll motif made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
