A Russian 88 gilt Silver and enamel salt cellar. the salt cellar is mounted on four legs and made in the shape of a throne chair with a gold wash interior. The exterior is covered with polychrome enamel geometrical, foliage, swirl, and scrollwork patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The back part is decorated with a hand enameled portrait of a Russian young woman with ruddy cheeks and a long braid in traditional costume after the original oil painting, A Cup of Honey, 1890 by Konstantin Makovsky.
