A pair of matching mid-20th century Chinese porcelain vases. After 1949. White pieces with ornamentally decorated neck and base in black. The bodies are garnished with mountain landscapes on the obverse and poems from the Siku Quanshu on the reverse. Hieroglyphical hallmark on the bottom of both items. The Siku Quanshu, variously translated as the Complete Library in Four Sections, or Emperors Four Treasuries, was the largest Chinese collection of books published by the order of the Qianlong Emperor in the 1780s. The Library contained classic literary texts, as well as works on philosophy and history. Collectible Oriental Asian Porcelain Ware And Decor.
