The plate is hand painted with a scene from the life of Napoleon on the battlefield, The Battle of Austerlitz, the decisive battle of the Napoleonic army against the armies of the third anti French coalition. Signed by the artist, Desprez, lower left. The borders are adorned with classical wreaths with a monogram, N, on the top on royal blue ground. Titled, Austerlitz, on the backside. Marked with an M.
