Two vintage German Gloria Fine Porcelain Bavaria decorative plates hand painted with 24k gold. Circa the mid 20th century. Marked underneath. Each plate presents a painting by Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Dutch 1606 to 1669. One shows a 1563 work titled Aristotle with a Bust of Homer, an oil-on-canvas painting by Rembrandt that depicts Aristotle wearing a gold chain and contemplating a sculpted bust of Homer. The second is a 1642 painting titled The Night Watch prominently displayed in the Rijksmuseum as the best known painting in its collection. Circa the mid 20th century. Marked underneath.
