The front side of the vase depicts Mao Zedong meeting theatrical actors. The backside, the lateral sides and neck are covered with Mao Zedongs quotes and Communist mottos in Chinese. Hallmark 1968 in Chinese on the bottom. Mao Zedong, 1893 to 1976, was a communist revolutionary and the founder of the Peoples Republic of China. The Cultural Revolution was an upheaval launched by Mao Zedong during his last decade in power to renew the spirit of the Chinese Revolution.
