An antique Middle Eastern Syrian covered mixed metals, silver inlaid brass over copper box. The exterior of the box is adorned with chased and engraved traditional designs, foliage, scrollwork, and Kufic calligraphy motifs. The wooden interior of the box is decorated with marquetry foliage and geometrical ornaments. Mounted on four legs. Circa: late 19th century.
