A pair of Pre-columbian Mesoamerican Mexican Veracruz hand-carved from volcanic stone ceremonial pieces. The pieces depict Remojades style head fragments, the rounded style and upturned face that distinguishes the Tarascans from their contemporaries the Zapotecans and the Aztecs. Anthropologists and archaeologists have interpreted the upturned face as a means of expressing adoration, probably for a god. Veracruz, Mexico. 800 to 1200 A.D. The Remojadas culture is considered part of the larger Classic Veracruz culture. Precolumbian Mesoamerican Ceramic Figures, Figurines, Statues, Heads, Masks, For Collectors.
