Circa: the early 20th century. Rene Paul Marquet was a French sculptor known for Art Deco artworks. He was a pupil of Emmanuel Fontaine and Jean Falguiere at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris. He regularly exhibited his figures at the Salon and was awarded a prize there in 1909.
