A vintage Asian brass cane with a steel sword hidden inside, which can be accessed by unscrewing the handle. The surface is decorated with embossed floral motifs. The head of the cane is made of brass and cast as a Buddha head. Presumably Japanese, circa 1950s. In the 18th century the cane replaced the sword as an essential part of every gentleman's look.
