A WWII era Chinese Republic Air Force officers dagger with a scabbard. The dagger features a nickel plated steel blade with a semi sharp tip. Brass moulding of a parrot forms the back spine and pommel of the hilt. Completed with a gilt brass scabbard, adorned within engraved spread winged eagle, Bird of Prey, on both sides, and an engraved feather pattern on the tip. Marked with Hieroglyphs on a ricasso. The scabbard is engraved with a Sun insignia, marked with Hieroglyphs, and numbered 21283. This dress dagger was approved for wear by officers of the Chinese Nationalist Air Force at the time of the Sino-Japanese war of 1937 to 1945.
