A collection of eight antique Japanese figural mixed metal Menuki. The pieces are adorned with gilding, embossing and etching. The richness and excellency of craftsmanship unite silver, bronze, copper and gold layering in a masterpiece miniature artwork. The Menuki are made in the shape of flowers, animals, birds, figural group with horses, insects, and others. One piece is mounted on a fabric base. Several with pins on the back. Several are marked with a Silver standard hallmark and other Assay marks on the back. Circa: 19th to early 20th century. Menuki are a pair of small ornaments under the handle of a Japanese sword placed on opposite sides of the handle.
