A set of Neoclassical style home decor. A pair of French Neoclassical gilt brass candle holders made in Louis XV style. The candle holders were designed by Louis Constant Sevin, 1821 to 1888, and sculpted by Desire Attarge, 1820 to 1878. The design includes a tapering columnar form with urn form socles decorated with swags, plus stems decorated with musical trophies, fruits and foliage set upon a circular domed foot with beaded edge. The set also includes an antique monumental Louis XV style gilt brass center piece in the manner of Clodion. The centerpiece is made in the form of well sculpted infant holding Nautilus wine cup adorned with floral and leaves patterns, and olive grapes motif on the base. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century.
