A vintage Bowen Hunter textile bobbin wooden kaleidoscope. Marked, Bowen 57 Hunter, on the bottom. The kaleidoscope is made from a vintage Bowen-Hunter textile bobbin. These bobbins were manufactured in East Corinth, Vermont by the Bowen-Hunter bobbin mill, which operated between 1941 and 1964. The kaleidoscope has three reflective surfaces that reflect light passing through colored glass pieces in the object cell at the cogged end of the bobbin.
