The lower part of the icon depicts a prophet in the desert; a prophet instructed by an angel; the prophet with his successor - Elisha. In the upper part, the holy prophet Elijah ascends to heaven in a chariot drawn by winged horses. Cast bronze and hot blue enamel, circa the early 1800s.
