Lot 235 - CATHERINE THE SECOND RUSSIAN IMPERIAL CUIRASSIER SWORD

A Russian Imperial Cuirassier sword, dating to the reign of Catherine II, featuring a straight, double edged steel blade etched with the imperial cypher. The hilt is composed of an ornate brass basket guard with pierced scrolling foliate motifs, a globose pommel, and a grip bound in wire. It is accompanied by its original scabbard, which is fitted with four suspension rings for attachment to a carriage or belt.
