An antique Eastern Orthodox painted wooden icon depicting a half-length bearded saint, possibly St. John the Hermit or a Holy Martyr. The figure is rendered wearing a red cloak over a dark, striped tunic, holding a cross in his right hand while raising his left in a traditional gesture. The composition features a blue background enclosed by a red painted border, with the saint's head surrounded by a textured, gilded halo. Faded red identifying inscriptions are visible flanking the halo. The artwork is painted on a thick, hand-hewn wooden panel.
