Lot 737 - ANCIENT ROMAN EMPIRE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMPS AND NECKLACE

A lot of three Ancient Roman Empire artifacts. First. A necklace crafted from multicolored glass beads, dating from 100 to 300 AD. The necklace showcases a range of bead colors and shapes, reflecting the Roman eras intricate glasswork and appreciation for vibrant adornment. Second and Third. A pair of terracotta pottery oil lamps, dating from 300 to 400 AD. The first lamp is adorned with engraved ornaments on the shoulders as well as a raised circle nozzle top. The second features an image of Virgin Mary's face, a raised circle nozzle top and a raised handle. The basic function of these lamps was to provide light through the oil in the tank and the wick that was located in the rostrum. They were also used as a votive and funerary element.
