A Studio hand painted terracotta pottery head, a replica bust of the Charioteer of Delphi, also known as Heniokhos the rein holder. The original life size bronze statue dates back to 478 to 474 BCE and is celebrated as one of the finest surviving examples of ancient Greek bronze sculpture. He wears a wide, decorated victors headband tainia across his brow, which originally featured inlaid silver on the master bronze piece. The striking almond shaped eyes are a key feature of early Greek bronzes, traditionally inlaid with glass paste, onyx, and outlined with fine bronze eyelashes to make the expression look alive.
