A pair of hand-colored facsimile prints, after engravings by Matthaus Merian the Elder, 1593 to 1650, a Swiss-born engraver who worked in Frankfurt, Germany for most of his career, where he also ran a publishing house. Maps of the Harburg Castle, a late 11th century mediaeval complex in Bavaria. The castle is depicted at the time of construction and during the artists lifetime. Both prints are matted and framed.
