Lot 0 - IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER NIELLO SNUFF BOX SIGNED

A finely crafted Russian silver snuff box. Dated first half of the 19th century. Rectangular in form, it is decorated on both sides with finely executed niello architectural views within geometric borders. One side bears the inscription 'R. Björstad,' most likely identifying the engraver or the original artist after whose work the scene was executed. The interior is gilt. Hallmark of 84 silver standard, Moscow assay mark, maker's initials 'ОВ', and assayer's initials 'ND' on the inside. Weight: 60 g.
