This Webb Corbett goblet, a copy of an 18th century toasting glass, is issued to mark the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Mrs. Margaret Thatcher M.P. as first woman Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Made in full-;ead crystal with an air-twist stem, the goblet is decorated with a legend and a profile of the Prime Minister and a reproduction of the clock tower of the House of Commons which houses the famous Big Ben bell. Signed by Daniel Smith and dated 1974 on the circular base. The piece is accompanied by its original blue silk-lined presentation box and descriptive documentation.
