A 19th-century French-style Dragoon cavalry helmet features a polished brass skull surmounted by a high, decorative comb embossed with classical foliate motifs. A black fur band encircles the base of the skull, complemented by an articulated chin strap composed of interlocking brass scales over a leather backing. The interior retains a partial leather liner and a reinforced visor, reflecting standard military issue patterns from the Napoleonic to the Third Republic eras.
