A kris dagger or keris, originating in the Philippines, is a modern version of a traditional bladed weapon native to the Malay Archipelago and the Philippines, particularly the province of Pangasinan on the island of Luzon. The dagger features a double edged, pattern welded steel blade designed in the traditional kris style with multiple undulations. Such blades are often called serpentine blades. The hilt is composed of a dark, contoured grip featuring a stylized pommel and is secured by a brass toned crossguard. Accompanying the blade is a contemporary black fabric scabbard embellished with a red cord wrap and equipped with an integrated carrying strap, marked Philippines.
