A beautiful and intricately detailed antique Chinese carved red cinnabar lacquer circular covered box. The domed lid and rounded sides are deeply carved in high relief, depicting a continuous, serene landscape scene featuring scholars and attendants among rocky outcroppings, pine trees, weeping willows, and classical pavilions. The narrative scenes are elegantly framed by rich floral borders and a traditional key-fret band around the foot rim.
