An antique US American flag with 48th stars. The 48-star American flag was the official U.S. flag for 47 years, from July 4, 1912, to July 3, 1959, following the admission of New Mexico and Arizona. It features 6 rows of 8 stars and was the flag used during both World Wars, the Korean War, and by eight U.S. presidents. Known as the Flag of Liberation in WWII, it was flown over Berlin in 1945.
