A striking pair of antique French faience vases by J. Vieillard & Co. of Bordeaux, dating to the late 19th century. The baluster-form vases showcase a vibrant turquoise blue glazed ground, intricately decorated in an Orientalist or Iznik-revival style with raised slip-trailed yellow and black floral arabesques and foliate motifs within striking dark reserves. Both vases are stamped on the underside with the impressed J. Vieillard & Cie Bordeaux maker's mark alongside the model number 288.
