Lot 8 - 19TH CENTURY HAND COLORED ENGRAVING AFTER CANALETTO

A 19th century hand colored engraving, A View of the Grand Walk in Vauxhall Gardens taken from the Entrance. Engraved by Edward Rooker based on an original by the Italian master Canaletto Giovanni Antonio Canal, painted around 1751. The engraving shows the tree lined Grand Alley and the orchestra pavilion where musical performances took place. Along the alley are booths for dining supper boxes and many strollers in period costumes. Signed, marked and inscribed in the print, in the lower margin.
