A seventh edition of the book, In the Radiance of the Hellenic Sun, written by the Czech writer and poet Josef Svatopluk Machar. Josef Svatopluk Machar, 1864 to 1942, a prominent representative of Czech Art Nouveau and critical realism, is a collection of poems inspired by antiquity. This is the first volume of Machars extensive nine volume poetry cycle, entitled Conscience of the Ages, in which the author attempted to capture the spiritual development of humanity. The collection includes poems such as Moses, Saul, Pythagoras, Dying Aeschylus, and others. The cover and design for this series were created by the renowned Czech artist Frantisek Kupka. Signed in the print, Kupka, lower right. Published by the publishing company Solc a Simacek in Prague, 1922. Stamped on the title page.
