Lot 192 - LOT OF HAND MADE LEATHER AND BRONZE COVERED DECANTERS

A collection of three vintage Italian leather covered decanters handcrafted in the mid 20th century. These decorative vessels are typically made of green glass and decorated with embossed leather and bronze accents. The decanters are based on a glass bottle often made of green Empoli glass wrapped in hand embossed or hand woven genuine leather. Characteristic features include bronze fittings in the form of ringed lion heads, coats of arms, and gold embossing. The first bottle: round, covered in russet leather with a braided pattern. The center is adorned with a massive bronze lions head with a ring knocker. The second bottle: square, covered in dark burgundy or brown leather with delicate gold embossing around the perimeter. The third bottle: tall, narrow, covered in red and yellow leather. The top is decorated with a metal crest, while the bottom is embellished with diamond shaped quilting and two small lion heads.
