A Roman Provincial coin issued for the Phoenician city of Tyre in 222 A.D., under the Roman Caesar Severus Alexander. Obverse: a bare-headed bust of Severus Alexander facing right. The coin has a visible countermark of a head within a circular incuse applied after the coin was initially struck. Reverse: depicts the goddess Astarte standing facing, with her right hand resting on a trophy and holding a scepter in her left.
