Polished bronze sculpture, titled Mlle Pogany III vue de face attributed to Constantine Brancusi, 1876 to 1957, a Romanian-born French Abstract sculptor. The piece is a portrait of Margit Pogany, a Hungarian artist who sat for Brancusi several times in 1910 and 1911 while she was in Paris studying painting. Shortly after her return to Hungary, Brancusi carved a marble Mlle Pogany from memory, then made a plaster mold of the work, from which he cast four additional versions. The high level of stylization makes this portrait a completely abstract form. Marked C. Brancusi, numbered 6 of 6 on the back side. Black stone base. Collectible Sculpture, Fine Art and Home Decor.
