A Chinese cowpea red glaze ceramic water pot. The unusual shaped ware is adorned with a narrow neck with a fluted mouth. The exterior of the ware is covered with glaze in a rare shade. Marked with blue ink six characters mark, on the bottom. This kind of porcelain was made primarily during Kangxi reign, 1622 to 1722 AD, as small scholar objects primarily for imperial palace use. The shape of this pot is called Tai Bai Zwen. Tai Bai refers to the great poet Li Tai Bai.
