An antique Russian Orthodox icon of the Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon depicts the Baptism of Christ, with Christ in the center, John the Baptist on the right, and an angel on the left. The image of a dove in the upper part hints at the descent of the holy spirit upon Jesus. Inscribed in Church Slavonic in the upper part. Circa: the second half of the 19th century.
