A rare vintage collection of lithographic prints dedicated to the artwork of Mai Thu with text by Michel Bouju. The prints are collected in a cardboard folder covered with black felt. Mai Trung Thu, 1906 to 1980, is a Vietnamese artist based in France and a member of the first class of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de l Indochine in Hanoi along with Le Pho. Mai Thu is known for figure, portrait, still life, and genre painting. Despite having lived in France for the majority of his life, Mai Thu retained a strong sense of patriotism and devotion to the mores from his homeland, finding delight in incorporating Vietnamese subject matter into his art. This artist embodies a generation of progressive Vietnamese artists that emerged during the 1930s, including Le Pho and Vu Cao Dam. Vintage Asian Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
